Brittany Barrera is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care grounded in collaboration, education, and evidence-based medicine. She brings a deep respect for each patient's story and a belief that lasting mental health care must account for the biological, psychological, and social factors that shape well-being. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma-related conditions, and reproductive psychiatry, with experience treating a broad range of conditions.

Brittany earned her Master of Science in Nursing, with a specialization as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she was recognized with the Maverick Advantage Distinction. She previously completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington and holds a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. As a native English and Spanish speaker, she is committed to providing culturally responsive and linguistically inclusive care to the patients and families she serves.

Her clinical background is grounded in years of psychiatric nursing, including work in forensic and inpatient settings caring for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. She has worked in adult forensic psychiatry and outpatient psychiatry, developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and strengthening her diagnostic reasoning across the full range of psychiatric conditions. Brittany is committed to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development, regularly pursuing continuing education in psychopharmacology, psychiatric assessment, and evidence-based behavioral health care.

Outside of clinical practice, Brittany enjoys gardening.

She provides care for patients in Texas under the supervision of Dr. Mara Sigalos-Rivera.
